Applications are welcomed from Indian nationals coming from scheduled classifications (SC, ST, OBC, EWS and PwD (VH, OH, HH)) under special recruitment drive for the post of Assistant Professor in the Departments of Aerospace Engineering, Biological Sciences and Bioengineering, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Civil Engineering, Cognitive Science, Computer Technology and Engineering, Design, Earth Sciences, Economic Sciences, Electrical Engineering, Humanities and Social Sciences, Management Sciences, Materials Science and Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mathematics and Statistics, Physics, Space, Planetary & Astronomical Sciences & Engineering (SPASE), Sustainable Energy Engineering, and Kotak School of Sustainability.

Several Departments likewise take part in the mentor and research study activities of interdisciplinary post-graduate programs in the institute in Photonics Science and Engineering and Materials Science . Appointments for these programs are made in the appropriate departments amongst those noted above.

Minimum Qualification (Assistant Professor): Ph.D. with first class or equivalent (in terms of grades, etc) at the preceding degree in the appropriate branch, with an extremely excellent scholastic record in all preceding degrees. For a fresh Ph.D, the position will be on agreement basis for the first 3 years, employment and can be regularized later on. For those with three or more years of post-PhD teaching/research/industrial experience, routine appointment can be made.

The Institute follows booking in direct recruitment as per the arrangements of the Central Educational Institutes (Reservation in Teachers’ Cadre) Act, 2019. The existing unique drive advertisement is to fill up 56 stockpile jobs in reserved categories till 31st December 2024.

Other information:

1. The pay brings all other allowances as permissible to a Central Government staff member stationed at Kanpur.

2. The benefits, such as LTC, medical re-imbursement, transport allowance, children education allowance, contribution towards New Pension System (NPS), re-imbursement of telephone expenses, book grants, HRA (if housing not supplied), research initiation grant (as much as Rs 25 lakhs with the provision to make an application for an additional grant) and financial backing towards nationwide and global conferences will be permitted according to the Institute standards.

3. From its internal resources, the Institute provides an additional top-up income of Rs 25,000/- each month for the very first 3 years of service to the recently joined faculty members. After 3 years of service, the professor(s) are eligible for consideration for employment Young Faculty Fellowship (open for faculty of age upto 40 years) offering a top-up salary of Rs.15,000/- monthly for three years, and/or Faculty Chair positions providing a top-up income of Rs 25,000/- each month for three years. Both the positions are used based on efficiency.

4. Traveling allowance for joining: The Institute will reimburse worldwide travel expenses for the newly joined professor and dependent relative to the optimum limitation of Rs. 1,50,000. Domestic travel compensation will be according to federal government guidelines.

5. The Institute makes every effort to provide real estate to all professor. Your houses are equipped with free high-speed web.

6. Mere eligibility will not entitle a prospect for being called for interview.

7. Applicants who do not satisfy the minimum experience requirements might be provided an appointment on agreement. The requirements of minimum credentials and/or experience might be relaxed when it comes to candidates with impressive credentials.

12. Applicants who are employed in Government or employment Semi-Government Organizations will be required to produce a “NO OBJECTION CERTIFICATE” from their employer at the time of the interview.
